About

I am the head of the Trustworthy AI for Life Lab and Assistant Professor at Utrecht University. I am also a guest scientist at the Department of Radiology at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. Before this, I was a postdoc at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. I did my PhD at the University of Porto, with a visiting stay at the University of Bern, working at the intersection of deep learning and medical imaging. My research focuses on explainable, privacy-preserving, and robust AI for biomedical applications. Outside the lab, I enjoy travelling, photography, and road cycling 🚴‍♂️📷🌍.
